The Indian team defeated Bangladesh in the two-match Test series and with this it has strengthened its chances of going to the final of the ICC World Test Championship. KL Rahul was the captain of Team India in this series because Rohit Sharma did not play in this series due to injury. After winning the series, Rahul did such a thing that Mahendra Singh Dhoni was remembered. Dhoni is counted among the greatest captains not only of India but of the cricket world.
It was Dhoni’s habit that he was at the forefront at the time of defeat and when the team won, he used to keep the players ahead. He used to put forward the young players to celebrate and handed over the trophy of victory to them. Rahul has also done something similar after winning the series against Bangladesh.
Trophy handed over to Saurabh-Jaidev
After winning the match, when Rahul was given the trophy for winning the series in the presentation ceremony, he took it to the rest of the teammates and handed over the trophy to Saurabh Kumar standing there. Saurabh was included in the team in place of Ravindra Jadeja in this series but he did not get a chance to debut. But Rahul handed over the trophy to him and definitely encouraged him.
Not only that. Apart from Saurabh, Rahul also handed over the trophy to Jaydev Unadkat. Unadkat made his Test debut in 2010 but after that he walked out of Team India. In this series, Unadkat returned after 12 years and played the second match. When Unadkat made his Test debut, KL Rahul did not play his first match.
