28 March 2022, this was the date on which Mohsin Khan’s luck worked to open closed doors for him. Lucknow Super Giants competed with Gujarat Titans. In this match, Lucknow’s fast bowler Avesh Khan got injured and then replaced one Khan in the playing XI, the other Khan – the name was Mohsin Khan.
Moradabad’s Mohsin grabbed this chance with both hands and bowled in such a way that even after Avesh Khan’s return to the playing XI, his place did not move. From the debut match till the end, he remained a part of the core team of Lucknow.
In IPL 2022, Mohsin Khan played a total of 9 matches and took 14 wickets. During this his economy was 5.97 and his best performance was of taking 4 wickets for 16 runs. Mohsin was one of the most economical bowlers in IPL 2022. After this spectacular performance, his name started making headlines for the ticket of Team India. In the T20 series against South Africa, he was not picked citing injury but it is expected that left-armer Mohsin Mohsin will become the face of India’s fast bowling in the future.
Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar was unsold in the mega auction of IPL 2022 in February. Meaning it was decided that he was not playing in the 15th season. But, luck did not approve of this. The result was that RCB’s Lavneeth Sisodia got injured and the same team that did not retain him from RCB sent him a call to play. The interesting thing is that the Patidars were going to get married. Hotels were booked for the ceremony. But he postponed everything as soon as he got the call of RCB. And, reached Royal Challengers Bangalore to score runs.
Now when luck got a chance again, the name and identity had to be established. He did the same by writing a winning script for RCB with a century in the Eliminator match. After this, he was the most successful batsman of RCB in Qualifier 2. Here he scored a half-century. These two innings have made Rajat Patidar a part of RCB’s core team for the next season.
In IPL 2022, Rajat Patidar played 8 matches for RCB and scored 333 runs at an average of 55.50 and strike rate of over 152. It included one century and two centuries. After this strong performance, they are also knocking on the door of Team India, and if not today or tomorrow they will definitely be seen getting entry.
