Venkatesh Prasad recently criticized Indian team opener KL Rahul and said that this right-handed batsman got a place in the team not because of talent but because of choice.

New Delhi: Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad had recently criticized KL Rahul fiercely. Prasad made this criticism after Rahul’s continuous failure. Rahul was continuously failing in international cricket and that is why he was on the target of critics. But Prasad had spoken ahead of others regarding Rahul. He had said that Rahul got a place in the team not because of talent but because of choice. However, Rahul had recently won the team by hitting a half-century in the first match of the three-match ODI series being played against Australia. Now Prasad has again kept his point, but this time though he has praised Rahul.
Prasad had written fiercely against Rahul on Twitter. After this, he himself had to face criticism. Prasad also had a dispute with former India opener Akash Chopra. Akash had asked Prasad to debate on Rahul on an open day. Unlike Prasad, Akash supported Rahul.

I was not against anyone – Prasad
Prasad has now said that he was not against anyone. He was speaking what he felt. Talking to CNN News18, Prasad said that he is not against anyone and writes what he feels. He said that some people accept it and some people do not. The former fast bowling coach of the Indian team said that he had not only spoken about Rahul but he had also spoken about Sarfaraz Ahmed. He said that he tries not to cross the line, some people took it seriously and some criticized it.
Rahul did not do justice to Pratibha
Prasad said that the things he wrote about Rahul were written after observing the player because he has known Rahul since his early days. Prasad said that he has known Rahul since his under-16 days and has respect for Rahul. He has seen Rahul very closely and hence he can say that Rahul has not done justice to his talent yet.
