Sandeep Warrior, who was found to be Corona positive, has not played any matches in IPL 2021 so far. Varun Chakraborty has been a part of all KKR matches.
Varun Chakraborty (second from left) and Sandeep Chakraborty (second from right) have been found to be corona positive.
The IPL 2021 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 3 has been postponed. The decision has been taken as two KKR players were found to be Kovid-19 positive. The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) source confirmed this to PTI. The match will be held on any other day during the tournament that ends on May 30. Leg-spinner Varun Chakraborty and fast bowler Sandeep Warrier have been found to be Corona positive. After two players fall into the corona, the rest of the players may get nervous. Also, there is a question mark on the management of bio bubble during the tournament.
A letter was written by the BCCI to the teams and players in the past. It was then said that the IPL bio bubble is the safest. The board had given information to conduct corona test every two days to make it stronger. Also, a ban was imposed on procuring food from outside. In such a situation, it is a matter of concern that the players of KKR come positive. It also shows negligence. It is said that Varun Chakraborty was taken out of the bio bubble for a scan due to a shoulder injury. It is believed that during this period, Chakraborty came into contact with the corona virus. Sandeep Warrier must have been infected here. Due to this disturbance, the bio bubble of IPL 2021 broke in and Corona’s case came to the fore.
Warrior has not played any matches in IPL 2021 yet. Chakraborty has been a part of all KKR matches. He has taken seven wickets so far and is the most successful bowler of KKR.
Waiting for second test result
Meanwhile, a BCCI source told PTI on the condition of anonymity that two KKR members have been found positive. But the report of his second test is still awaited so that the possibility of a wrong result can be ruled out. Enrique Norkhia of Delhi Capitals was also found positive after his arrival from South Africa. But he was negative in the next three Tests. In such a situation, it was revealed that the result of his first test was wrong.
The good thing is that apart from Chakraborty and Warrior, the test of all the other players of KKR has come negative. But the report of the second RT-PCR test of these two players will not come till this evening. In such a situation, it is not possible to match.
