However, after not getting a place in the Gujarat team in the Ranji Trophy, Harshal Patel joined the Haryana cricket team and is currently the captain of the team.  Harshal Patel took 28 wickets in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy season.  He was also selected in the team for the 2010 Under-19 World Cup.
