India will host the U16 FIFA World Cup from October 11 to 30. A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament and a total of 32 matches will be played in it.
FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup (FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup) The final will be played on 30 October at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai while the semi-finals will be held in Goa. India will play their group stage matches on October 11, 14 and 17 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Two quarter final matches each will be played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.
16 teams will participate in the tournament
LoC Project Directors Ankush Arora and Nandini Arora said in a joint statement, “The release of the program is a significant moment in organizing this historic tournament. Preparations for hosting India’s second FIFA event are progressing in the right direction and we are confident of hosting a very successful tournament. A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament and a total of 32 matches will be played in it.
Last three teams decided a week ago
The last three teams to participate in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 were decided last week. Africa’s Morocco, Nigeria and Tanzania took the last three places in the mega event. Hosting the FIFA Women’s Championship is a big achievement for India. It is an important moment for Tanzania and Morocco, as both countries will make their respective debuts in the global youth tournament. Nigeria is a regular country in international football having qualified all but one of the last six under-17 finals.
Training camp of Indian players is going on
Not long ago, the head coach of the Indian women’s football team, Thomas Dennerby, announced the names of 33 players for the national coaching camp for this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. These 33 players include 12 such players who were part of the Indian team that won the SAIF Under-18 Women’s Championship this year. In the end, which players will make a place in the team, it will be decided later.
