India has been one of those countries in the world of cricket which has never produced stormy bowlers. Stormy bowler means like Shoaib Akhtar, Brett Lee. In front of whose speed the batsman leaves the crease. But now this deficiency seems to be getting fulfilled because Team India has such a bowler who has the power to bowl continuously at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour. The name of this bowler is Umran Malik. Umran Malik’s birthday is today i.e. 22 November.
Umran is currently with Team India on New Zealand tour. He has played three T20 matches for India and has also taken two wickets. This bowler had stepped into the IPL franchise as a net bowler and today he is counted among the main bowlers of this team.
This is how the journey started
Born in Jammu and Kashmir in 1999, Umran Malik’s father Abdul Rashid used to sell fruits. But despite the poverty, he never killed his son’s wish and gave him full support in cricket. In an interview, Rashid had said that he did not deny any wish of his son but at the same time asked him to concentrate on his studies. Umran Malik’s career started with gully cricket. He used to play with tennis ball.
But when Sunrisers selected him as their net bowler for IPL 2020, he caught everyone’s attention. After this he became the star of this team.
Has created chaos in IPL
Umran Malik’s strength is not swing. His strength is his speed. He has the power to bowl continuously at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour. In IPL 2022, this bowler made records with his stormy bowling. He bowled at a speed of 157 kilometers per hour in the match played against Delhi Capitals. This was the fastest ball of the last season of IPL. If the top-10 fastest balls of IPL-2022 are seen, then Umran’s name is on nine in it. On one is Lockie Ferguson, who played last season for Gujarat Titans, who bowled at a speed of 153.9 kmph.
Umran is being called the future star of India and hence everyone was surprised when Hardik Pandya, who was captaining Team India in the T20 series on New Zealand tour, did not give him a chance in the second match.
