Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the patron of the PCB, has recommended the name of Rameez Raja as the new chairman of the board, which is sure to be approved.
Rameez Raja is set to become the next PCB chairman, replacing Ehsan Mani.
A big change is going to happen in Pakistani cricket. After a long wait, a former cricketer is being made the President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Former batsman and famous commentator Ramiz Raja is set to become the PCB chairman, who will replace Ehsan Mani. Mani’s tenure ended only last month, which it was decided not to extend. Rameez Raja will take over his office this month and will take steps to strengthen Pakistani cricket, but before that, voices have started rising against him from home. A former Pakistani veteran, accusing Rameez of being anti-Pakistan and pro-India, has not considered him the right fit for the post.
Former Pakistani fast bowler Sarfaraz Nawaz, who is called the father of reverse swing, is known for his strange and controversial statements. For the past few years, he has also been making frequent statements about the current situation from the past of Pakistan cricket, which has embarrassed Pakistani cricket and the board. In such a situation, Nawaz has once again adopted an attacking stance regarding the PCB, which has an unbroken relationship with controversies.
Surrendered before the dominance of India
According to Pakistani media reports, Nawaz has accused Rameez of accepting the superiority of the Indian Cricket Board in world cricket and has been supporting India. Nawaz has written a letter in this matter to the Prime Minister of the country and his former captain Imran Khan, who has recommended the name of Rameez Raja. Nawaz wrote, “If your consent to the appointment of Rameez Raja as the next PCB chairman is true, who shamelessly advised Pakistan to accept India’s dominance in the ICC (which was strongly opposed by Pakistanis),” And at the same time had said that by isolating Pakistan, the cricket world should surrender to the plan of India of the unicameral rule.
Rameez’s appointment against national interest
While advising Imran, Nawaz wrote that making Rameez Raja the president would be like hurting the sentiments of the whole country. He wrote, “While you may be well-versed in your decision, I would humbly suggest that the respected legend Majid Khan, who has had a good relationship with the ICC Board members in the past, or Zaheer Abbas, should be replaced by Rameez Raja as the next President. can be made, because his (Rameez Raja) appointment would be against national interests and would hurt the spirit of patriotism.”
