The world’s number one T20 team England once again showed their strength before the T20 World Cup and defeated Pakistan by 3 wickets in the last match of the T20 series. With this, England won the T20 series 2-1 after the ODI. The last match of the series at Manchester’s Old Trafford was also once again in the name of the spinners, who gave their nose to the batsmen. Especially England leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who took 4 wickets and ended the hopes of the Pakistani team reaching a big score. In response, experienced Mohammad Hafeez also put in full force from Pakistan, but the success was finally in the hands of England.
England and Pakistan teams clashed in Manchester for the last match after the three-match series was tied at 1-1. Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first. Opener Mohammad Rizwan gave Pakistan a quick start, but captain Babar (11) himself could not last long. In the sixth over itself, leg-spinner Adil Rashid trapped him in his googly and got him stumped.

On behalf of Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan remained fiercely against the English bowlers alone, while on the other hand the spinners continued to wreak havoc. Rashid gave two big blows to Pakistan in his very next over. Rashid made Pakistan’s condition thin by taking the wickets of Soheb Maqsood (13) and Mohammad Hafeez (1). Meanwhile, Rizwan scored his second and overall 8th T20 fifty of the series and took the team to 154 runs by staying till the end. Rizwan remained unbeaten on 76 off 57 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. For England, Rashid took 4 wickets for 35 runs in 4 overs.
Roy’s scintillating half-century
In response, the opening pair of Jason Roy and Jos Buttler made a great start for England. Both of them washed the Pakistani bowlers a lot in the powerplay and gave speed to the team. England scored 67 runs in 8 overs and it was here that Butler got the first blow. He could only score 21 runs in 22 balls. However, for England, Jason Roy scored his blistering half-century from the other side. Roy also lost his wicket after taking the team to 92 runs in the 11th over. He scored 64 runs in 36 balls with the help of 12 fours and 1 six.
From here the Pakistani spinners started making a comeback in the match and continued to give shocks to England. Especially experienced spinner Hafeez got the team back by taking 3 wickets. Although world number one batsman David Malan (33 balls 31 runs) played a slow innings, he stuck to one end and took the team closer to victory, while captain Eoin Morgan scored a quick 12-ball 21 and Got out in the last over. In the end, Chris Jordan scored 4 runs to give victory to the team with 2 balls to spare.
