Tom Blundell shared a record partnership of more than 200 runs for the fifth wicket with Darryl Mitchell.
New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Tom Blundell has scored a brilliant century in the Nottingham Test. Blundell completed his century in the first session on Saturday 11 June, the second day of the match at the Trent Bridge ground. After missing out on a century in the last Test at Lord’s, Blundell managed to score a hundred this time in the Nottingham Test. This is the third century of Blundell’s Test career. He shared a record partnership with Daryl Mitchell and took the team to a strong position in the first innings. Mitchell also scored a century shortly before Blundell.
On the second day of the match, Blundell started his innings on the first day’s score of 67 runs and batted brilliantly and with restraint with Mitchell. Mitchell scored his second century in a row, but all eyes were on Blundell, who had missed a century by just 5 runs in the last Test after a brilliant batting. The New Zealand wicketkeeper did not disappoint himself and his fans this time.
