Veteran all-rounder and England Test captain Ben Stokes, returning to the IPL after two years, will be seen playing in the Test against Ireland from June 1.
There is still more than a month left for the start of the IPL 2023 season, but from now on such news has started coming, which will put the franchisees in trouble. Especially the tension of Chennai Super Kings, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has started increasing because England’s Test captain and star all-rounder Ben Stokes will leave the team in the middle of the season. According to the BBC report, the English captain will not be available for CSK in the last days of the IPL to prepare for the one-off Test match against Ireland in early June and then the Ashes series. (PTI)
The 16th season of IPL, starting from March 31, will run till May 28, but by this time Stokes would have left the tournament and returned to his country. Stokes, who is currently playing the Test series in New Zealand, said that he wanted to make sure that he would like to give himself enough time to prepare for the match against Ireland. (PTI)
A four-day Test match will be played between England and Ireland at Lord’s from June 1, after which the Ashes series against Australia will start from June 16. (PTI)
