This tournament was canceled last year due to COVID-19 and this year it was to be organized in Lucknow from October 12 to 17. “Ahead of the announcement of the BWF Calendar 2021 in August, BWF confirms that the Syed Modi International 2021 has now been cancelled,” the BWF said in a statement.
BWF has canceled and postponed many tournaments due to COVID but it has not given the reason behind the cancellation of this tournament. BWF said, “The Badminton Association of India (BAI), the organizer of the tournament, has taken this decision after consulting and discussing with the local government.”
