Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), is currently embroiled in controversies. Veteran wrestling players of the country have accused him that Bhushan has sexually exploited women players. There has been an uproar in the whole country regarding this matter. Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya, Sakshi Malik as well as Vinesh Phogat are also sitting on dharna at Jantar Mantar. Today Bhushan is surrounded in controversies but one thing cannot be denied that he has contributed significantly in changing the direction of WFI.
Although Brij Bhushan has done a lot for the players ever since he took charge of WFI. He has been speaking for his players from junior level to senior level. Bhushan has been seen giving advice to the referees many times in the National Championship. He is seen holding the mike from the stage and explaining the rules to the referees present on the mat.
contracts for players
BCCI was the only institution in Indian sports that used to provide contracts to its players, under which the cricketers got a substantial amount. Bhushan implemented the same contract system in WFI as well. He brought this contract system in 2018. Under this, players are given contracts in different grades. Under this, there was a provision to give Rs 30 lakh to Grade-A players, Rs 20 lakh to Grade-B players, and Rs 10 lakh to Grade-C, Rs five lakh to Grade-D.

Bhushan’s supremacy is not only in wrestling. He is also active in the field of education. They have more than 50 educational institutions in Bahraich, Gonda, Ayodhya, Balrampur, Shravasti. He is a six-time MP from Gonda. However, he has not been able to become a minister even once. Many times his name came in discussion but he could not become a minister. Once he had also expressed his sorrow about this and said that perhaps becoming a minister is not written in the lines of his hand.

Today Bhushan is badly seen embroiled in serious controversies but he is not backing down and has consistently denied the allegations leveled against him. He has also said that if the allegations against him are proved, he will hang himself. He has even said in his press conference that only a few players are opposing him and the rest are with him. He has said that if he opens his mouth, a tsunami will come.
