India is hosting the Women’s Boxing World Championship for the third time. Although many countries have refused to participate in the championship being held in Delhi.

New Delhi. Boxing Federation of India (BFI) to be held in Delhi Women’s World Championship The growing number of countries boycotting is not discouraging. He has decided that he will persuade all these countries and bring them back. For this, he has also started efforts. The International Boxing Association (IBA) allowed boxers from Russia and Belarus to compete under its flag against the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IOC has banned its players due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine and they cannot play under their flag.
In protest against the IBA’s decision, nine countries have decided to withdraw from the Women’s World Championship to be held in New Delhi from March 15 to 26. These countries include USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Czech Republic and Ukraine.

Boxing Federation is not disappointed
BFI Executive Director Colonel Arun Malik told PTI, “We need not be disheartened as 74 countries are still coming to participate in this competition.” Only a few countries have decided to withdraw. BFI has started talks with six of the boycotting countries to change their decision. Malik said, we have written letters to the six countries that withdrew from the competition. He can talk with our president Ajay Singh. We do not know at what level the decision has been taken from their side. We do not know whether the decision has been taken by their national federation or by their government. Our effort is to include some of these countries in the competition.
India has got hosting for the third time
India has never hosted the men’s world championship, but this will be the third time that the women’s competition will be held in the country. In 2006 and 2018, the tournament has been organized in New Delhi itself. In the previous edition of the women’s event in Turkey, India returned with three medals, including Nikhat Zareen’s gold in the flyweight category.
