The Indian cricket team has reached the tour of Sri Lanka for the ODI and T20 series. Under the leadership of Team India’s opener Shikhar Dhawan, India will go on this tour to play in a three-match ODI series and the same number of T20 series. The ODI series will start from July 13, with all matches played by R.K. of Colombo. It will be played at Premadasa Stadium. But just before the ODI series, important news related to the India-Sri Lanka series is coming out. According to this, just before the start of the ODI series, three stalwarts of the host team have been shown the way out. This step has been taken due to disciplinary action on these three players.
Actually, the Sri Lankan team is currently on a tour of England and during this time the team’s vice-captain Kusal Mendis, opener Danushka Gunatilak and wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwala violated the team’s bio bubble. After this, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board had asked all three to return from the tour of England. All three players have reached Sri Lanka and the officials of the Sri Lanka Board say that when these three complete the two-week quarantine period, then an investigation will be started against them as to how they got out of the hotel. None of these three will be included in the series against India.
Can be suspended for one year
According to a board official, if these players are found guilty then all three can be suspended for one year. These three players were found to have violated the bio bubble before the first ODI against England in Durham. Mendis and Dickwala were seen smoking on the streets of Durham. In another video, Gunatilak also appeared with these two. In the first ODI match played in Durham, the England cricket team won by five wickets. Before the ODI series, England did a clean sweep in the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka. After this, the Sri Lankan cricket team had to face a lot of anger on social media.
