Now Kohli has told that he had talked to RCB teammate and good friend AB de Villiers about leaving the captaincy of RCB. He told that he wanted a peaceful atmosphere and that is why he had decided to step away from the captaincy of RCB.

In a conversation with Star Sports, Virat Kohli said, I spoke to AB in 2019 about this decision. In IPL, I always wanted to be in a peaceful environment. Under the captaincy of Kohli, RCB reached the playoffs in IPL 2020. However, it could not go further than this. At the same time, the team has shown a good game in IPL 2021 as well.
