He hit 15 fours and 14 sixes in his innings. Due to his stormy century, Rajkot scored 261 runs in front of Kara Diamonds team for three wickets. Chasing the goal, the Diamonds’ team never appeared in the match. He succumbed to 103 runs in 15.4 overs and lost the match by 158 runs. The team lost their nine wickets within 33 runs or else they had scored 70 runs for one wicket in 7.5 overs. Rajkot registered the second win in three matches. At the same time, Cara Diamonds lost their third match in a row.

Amay Soman of Rajkot Thunder was the hero of this match. He landed in the opening and was an attacker from the very beginning. He hit a four off his first ball. After this, he did not spare any bowler of the Kara Diamonds team. Soman, who belongs to Pune, completed his half-century in 19 balls. During this time, he had hit eight fours and three sixes. Due to his stormy batting, Rajkot scored 74 runs in six overs of the powerplay without loss. Initially, Amay Soman hit more than fours. In the first 10 overs, he hit 13 fours while also hitting four sixes. This led to Rajkot scoring 127 runs in 10 overs. Of these, Amay Soman alone contributed 83 runs.

Soman hit sixes more than fours in the next 10 overs. He completed his century in 37 balls with a six. Even after completing the century, his pace of scoring did not decrease. Soman blew the next 50 runs in just 17 balls. In this way, his 150 runs in 54 balls were completed. He was dismissed in the last over. By then, the spirits of Kara Diamonds’ team were completely defeated. Rajkot’s team had reached beyond 250 runs. Amay Soman, 30, blew 144 runs with only fours and sixes. In 167 innings, he took only 23 runs with a single-double. The rest of the runs were made from the boundary.

Gayle’s records were saved by a small margin

He missed out on Chris Gayle’s 175-run knock in T20 cricket by a slight margin. Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 in IPL 2013 against Pune Warriors in 66 balls. He hit 13 fours and 17 sixes in this innings. Amay Soman could not leave Chris Gayle behind for the most sixes in an innings of a T20 match.
