Morjina Begum, 63, is a resident of Golpara in Assam. At the age of 35, he started his athletics career. Morjina’s coach was her own daughter who herself was a national level athlete. In the year 2018, Morjina Begum was diagnosed with breast cancer. After being diagnosed with cancer, Morjina was first operated upon. After this, he was treated through chemotherapy and radiation at Dr. B Borurah Cancer Institute. For three years, Morzina battled cancer and is finally ready to return to the track. After the approval of the doctors, he participated in the Masters Athletics Championship held in Guwahati. Initially the Federation officials did not allow them but later they bowed down to Morjina’s insistence.
