After the end of IPL 2021, the Indian team will immediately move to England for the final of the ICC World Test Championship, where they will clash with New Zealand from 18 June.
The final of the World Test Championship will begin from June 18 in Southampton.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is busy in successfully organizing IPL 2021 (IPL 2021), while the eyes of the board are also focused on the subsequent important international matches. This is the reason that BCCI is now going to give such a facility to Indian players, so that after the IPL is over, they do not have any problem and the team is ready. There is talk of the ICC World Test Championship, which is to be played in England two and a half weeks after the final match of IPL 2021. In view of this, the BCCI is now giving Indian players a chance to prepare for this final during the IPL and for this, the board is ready to give the Dukes balls used in Test matches in England to the squads of India.
Almost all the players of the Indian Test team are part of IPL 2021 this time. Team India has to go straight to England after the end of the tournament. There, the final of the Test Championship will be played between India and New Zealand from July 18 in Southampton. In such a situation, these players of the team will not be able to get enough time to prepare themselves with the conditions of England after the tournament ends and the Red Dukes who wreak havoc there.
Coach will also help with balls
In view of this, the BCCI has decided that if any member of Team India wants to take time out for himself during the IPL and practice with these balls, then the board will provide these balls to him. A top board official told PTI,
“If a player feels that he should practice with the red ball as well, then the BCCI will provide him with red dukes balls. For any kind of help, the coaches of the national team will help them immediately. ”
Team India will remain in strict quarantine in England
However, the BCCI has made it clear that this will be completely optional and test players contracted with the board can take advantage of it. On going to England, Team India will have to remain in strict quarantine, in which there will be no time for practice. A BCCI official told about this,
“You will not get a full 20 days of practice to prepare for the World Test Championship. If the IPL ends on 29 May and the team goes on tour on 30 or 31 May then the players will have to stay on a week of rigorous segregation in the UK. In such a situation, you will have only 10 days left for net practice. “
These players will get help
This decision of the BCCI is also important because the New Zealand team will reach England before India. There is a 2-match Test series to be played between New Zealand and England from June 2. In such a situation, the preparation of New Zealand will be much better. However, 2-3 players, including the captain of that team, Ken Williamson, are also part of the IPL.
It is believed that Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane will not get much opportunity to play with their franchise teams and in such a situation, they can use this time to prepare for Test matches. Similarly, Mohammed Shami can practice bowling with the Red Duke ball.
