Bangladesh did not have a good start in the Test match against Pakistan, but the team’s experienced batsmen Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das handled the innings and made a century partnership.

Taking hat-tricks in cricket matches is not something unique or new. In the history of this game, many bowlers have done wonders of scoring hat-trick by taking three wickets in three balls to their name. Many times, instead of the bowler, the team gets a hat-trick, that is, three wickets are obtained in 3 consecutive balls, but there is a run out in it, which does not come in the bowler’s account. But this is also not a unique thing. The unique thing is that when the batsmen of a team do this amazing thing. It will be surprising to hear, but this is such a thing, which is hardly seen in any match. This hat-trick is the dismissal of the top three batsmen of the team on the same score. Bangladesh’s batsmen did something similar, but with this ‘hat-trick’, instead of benefiting, the team suffered and suffered.
The first test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan began in Chattogram on Friday, 26 November. Hosts Bangladesh decided to bat first. This is a decision that every team in the Indian subcontinent prefers, as there is a good chance to score big in the first innings itself, but sometimes this decision also backfires. Exactly the same situation happened in Bangladesh, which had to face difficulties in front of Pakistani bowlers.
36 year old feat repeated
Against Pakistan, Bangladeshi team lost the wickets of their top 4 batsmen for only 49 runs in the first session. The special thing in this was the scores of the top 3 batsmen of the team. Opener Saif Hassan was out first. He became the victim of Shaheen Afridi by scoring 14 runs. Then shortly after Saif’s fellow opener Shadman Islam was also dismissed after scoring 14 runs. The team’s number three batsman Najmul Hossain Shanto also did not lag behind and he also lost his wicket after scoring 14 runs.
Bangladesh’s batsmen repeated the unintended feat of Australian batsmen 36 years ago. In 1985, in the Birmingham Test against England, Australia’s top 3 batsmen Andrew Hilditch, Graeme Wood and Kepler Wessels were dismissed for 10-10 runs.
Mushfiqur-Liton’s century partnership
Apart from these three, Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque also could not make much impact and went on scoring only 6 runs. Bangladesh team scored 69 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the first session. However, after this poor start, former team captain and experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim along with Liton Das handled the innings and put the team in a better position with a century partnership in the second session. Both the batsmen scored half-centuries.
