It has been said in the report that the valuation of IPL teams has also decreased. The five-time champion Mumbai Indians is the most valuable team right now. Its value is 761 crores. However, their value has decreased by 5.9 percent. The value of Mumbai in 2019 was Rs 809 crore. The biggest loss has been to the three-time champion team Chennai Super Kings. Its value has seen a drop of 16.5 percent. In 2019, the value of this team, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was Rs 732 crore, which was reduced to Rs 611 crore last year. The main reason for this is CSK’s poor performance in IPL 2020. In IPL 2020, Chennai was ranked seventh out of eight in the points table. She missed her first time going to the playoffs.
Shahrukh’s team also suffered a major loss
There was a drop in the value of the remaining teams of the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders owned by Shah Rukh Khan finished second in the loss. There was a 13.7 percent reduction in his valuation. In one year, its value increased from Rs 629 crore to Rs 543 crore. He is at number three in terms of valuation. At number four is Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli, whose value dropped by 9. per cent. Currently his value is Rs 536 crores as compared to Rs 595 crores a year ago.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is at number five and Delhi Capitals at number six with a value of Rs 442 crore. Delhi’s team reached the final of the IPL for the first time last year. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals are at number seven and eighth respectively. The value of Punjab is Rs. 318 crores and that of Rajasthan is Rs. 249 crores.
