22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal Had to sweat a lot to register a win against Jack Draper in the first round of the Australian Open. He has made it to the next round. Nadal defeated Draper 7 – 5, 2 – 6, 6 – 4, 6 – 1 in a match that lasted for about three and a half hours. This was Nadal’s first win this year. America’s Jessica Pegula, Coco Gow and Danielle Collins also won their matches and reached the second round. Last year’s runner-up, 13th seed Collins defeated Anna Kalinskaya 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.
America’s Jessica Pegula, Coco Gou and Danielle Collins reached the second round of Australian Open Tennis. Third seed Pegula defeated Romania’s Jacqueline Christian 6–0, 6–1. Seventh seed Gow defeated Katerina Siniakova 6–1, 6–4. Pegula and Gou could meet in the semi-finals, while Collins could play Iga Swiatek in the fourth round. Pegula, who had reached the quarter-finals both the last years, took only 59 minutes to win.
Emma Radukaanu to face Gau
At the same time, Gau, who played the French Open final last year, will now face former US Open champion Emma Radukanu. Britain’s Radukanu defeated Germany’s Tamara Korpach 6-3, 6-2. Former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu also advanced to the next round, but 28th seed Amanda Anisimova was defeated by Marta Kostiuk 6–3, 6–4. This year, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Ash Barty will not appear in the Australian Open due to saying goodbye to tennis and Naomi Osaka being pregnant. Carlos Alcaraz, Venus Williams and Marin Cilic are out due to injury.

He was being counted among the contenders for the Australian Open this year. No Australian male player has won the title at Melbourne Park since 1976. Kyrrios said, the decision to stay out is very difficult. This is one of the most important tournaments of my career. But I am very troubled by the pain.
