Katarina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic have won the women’s doubles title of the Australian Open. The pair defeated Japan’s Shuko Aoyama and Ana Shibahara 6-4, 6-3 in the final match.
This was the 10th final in the career of the Japanese pair of Aoyama and Shibahara, who were defeated by the Czech Republic pair. But this was his first final in a Grand Slam tournament.
This is the fourth consecutive Grand Slam title for the Czech pair. Earlier, the pair had won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open titles last year.
This is the 24th victory of the Czech Republic pair in the Grand Slam tournament. This is the 7th Grand Slam title of this pair.
