Daniil Medvedev has become the world’s number one tennis player. In the ATP rankings released on Monday, Russia’s Medvedev has climbed to the top with 7950 points, while Novak Djokovic has lost two places and has lost his number one position. Serbia’s star Djokovic has also dropped out of the top 2 for the first time in 4 years. Germany’s Alexander Zverev has reached the second place. At the same time, Spanish star Rafael Nadal has moved up to fourth place and French Open finalist Casper Roode has jumped one place to 5th.
Medvedev reached the top in February too
Djokovic remained at No. 1 for 373 weeks. In fact, Serbia’s star player Djokovic could not play in the Australian Open this year due to lack of vaccination, due to which he could not save his title. After this, he had missed out on saving his title in the French Open as well, due to which he had to bear the loss by losing his chair. Medvedev reached number one in February this year as well, but in March the very next month, Djokovic again reached the top.
