today’s big news
When will the WPL auction happen?
After all this, the eyes are on the auction of the players. BCCI had started the process of registration for the auction of players a few days ago, in which many players from India and abroad had filed their names. Now after the announcement of the franchises, the next step is the auction of the players.
In this regard, ESPNcricinfo has told in its report that the date of the auction has not been decided yet. However, Board Secretary Jai Shah has indicated that this process will be completed in the first week of February.
In fact, the Women’s T20 World Cup is going to start in South Africa from February 10, which will run till February 26. In such a situation, before this tournament, BCCI would like to complete the auction process. Similarly, the dates for organizing the tournament will also be decided.
WPL will start in March
According to the report, the board wants to start the tournament about a week after the end of the T20 World Cup. It is believed that it will start from March 4 and the first season will be played till March 24. The board is trying to start the 16th season of IPL from March 31 or April 1 and in such a situation, it wants to complete the WPL about a week before this tournament. The venue will also be selected on the basis of this, so that due to the one week break available between WPL and IPL, the pitches of that venue remain in better condition.
