India’s world number one boxer Amit Panghal is celebrating his 25th birthday today i.e. on 16 October. Born in a farmer’s family, Amit Panghal, facing all the struggles, became world number one and raised the value of the country. Hailing from Haryana, this star also represented the country in the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics.

Amit Panghal started boxing in the year 2008.  Amit's uncle used to give boxing training to the children in the village.  Amit's elder brother Ajay also used to go to the same place for training.  Initially, Amit did not go here to learn boxing, but only for physical fitness, he used to reach here because he was physically very weak.  But uncle saw that Amit was fond of boxing, so he started training him too.

These shoes were specially worn for boxing.  Although paying his price was not in Panghal's bus, but he liked the shoes so much that he could not stop himself.  So he made up his mind to take a loan.  Panghal asked his fellow boxer Kavindra Bisht to lend him some money if he wanted to buy shoes.  At the same time, he promised that he would go home and return the money to them.  Wearing those shoes, Panghal entered the championship.  He got defeated here but his career started.

In the 49 kg weight category, Rio Olympic gold medalist Dushmatov of Uzbekistan won the 14th gold for India.  Panghal is the only Indian boxer to have won two consecutive gold medals at the Strandja Memorial, Europe's oldest and most prestigious competition.  Panghal won the silver medal in the World Championship in the year 2018.  Apart from this, he won gold in the year 2017, silver in 2019 and bronze in 2021 in the Asian Championships.
