Kapil Dev is the player who broke the myth of absence of fast bowler in Indian cricket. It is about the year 1970. Kapil Dev had come to participate in the Under-19 camp in Mumbai. There after the practice, when he sat down to eat, he got some lentils and vegetables and 2 rotis to eat. Seeing the food, Kapil Dev felt that it was not enough for him because he is a fast bowler. Keki Tarapore was the manager of that camp. Kapil Dev talked to him. On this, Tarpor told him that why do you need something else to eat. Kapil Dev said in response that he is a fast bowler, so he needs to eat more. Hearing this talk of Kapil, Tarpor said that there are no fast bowlers in India.
Even though Kapil Dev was left listening to Tarpor that day. But later on, he worked to establish India’s identity in fast bowling. And, showed the world that he has everything that a fast bowler should have.
