IPL-2021 (IPL 2021) was postponed indefinitely after consecutive cases of coronavirus appeared. The league was suspended after 29 matches of the current IPL season were played.

The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hawkley as saying, “We are very happy. We are grateful to the BCCI for arranging for their safe and speedy repatriation. I have not yet spoken to him after his arrival here but have shared the messages and I am sure that he is feeling very relieved and happy to be back home. ”
Australia’s 38-member squad, including fourteen players, left for Maldives on 6 May following the suspension of IPL 2021 as the government banned flights from India till 15 May following the rise in COVID-19 cases in India.
