It is reported that in place of Virat, Rohit will be made the captain of Team India in the shorter format. According to the report of Times of India, soon Rohit Sharma may be announced as the captain of ODI and T20 in place of Virat Kohli. Rohit will be seen captaining in IPL 2021 before taking over the command of Team India after the T20 World Cup.

The Times of India quoted BCCI sources as saying, “Virat Kohli himself will announce his resignation from the captaincy after the T20 World Cup. He will take this decision to focus on his batting. Sources said that Virat, who is currently the captain of Team India in all formats, has decided to share the responsibility of his leadership with Rohit. Earlier, InsideSport.co had also reported during India’s tour of Australia that Virat Kohli may leave the ODI and T20 captaincy for Rohit Sharma.
