Sri Lanka defeated India in the T20 series in July. After this, it was believed that this team was on the way to comeback but the 3-0 defeat from South Africa has pushed them back once again.
Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendrix both hit Fifties for South Africa
South Africa have eliminated Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series. South Africa thrashed Sri Lanka by 10 wickets with the help of opener Quinton de Kock and Reza Hendrix’s unbeaten half-centuries after the bowlers’ brilliant performance in the last match. Batting first, Sri Lanka’s team was reduced to 120 runs. The hosts failed to make big scores due to two wickets each from Bjorn Fortun and Kagiso Rabada. Then this target was achieved by the Proteas team in 14.4 overs. De Kock remained unbeaten on 59 and Hendrix on 56. South Africa won the T20 format for the third time by 10 wickets. They are the second team to achieve this feat. New Zealand has done this before. Quinton de Kock and Reza Hendrix put on 121 runs for the first wicket. This is the biggest partnership for any wicket in T20 format between Sri Lanka and South Africa.
A comprehensive performance helps South Africa register a victory in the third T20I in Colombo 👏
