The Uttarakhand cricket team has started the current season of Ranji Trophy in a grand manner. Uttarakhand defeated Nagaland by 174 runs in the first match of Group-A. In the second innings of the match, Nagaland got piled on a very low score. Nagaland needed just 200 runs to win, but this team could not even achieve this target and lost the match after being bundled out for just 25 runs in their second innings on Friday, the last day of the match. With this, Uttarakhand has started the current Ranji season with a win.
Uttarakhand had scored 282 runs in the first innings. After this, the Nagaland team scored 389 runs and took the lead. Uttarakhand declared its second innings at 306 for the loss of seven wickets and gave Nagaland a target of 200 runs. But this team could not reach even near this score.
7 batsmen could not open account
Nagaland’s batting was so bad in the second innings that seven of its batsmen could not even open the account. Nagaho Chishi scored the most runs for him. He contributed 10 runs. Joshua Ozukum and Imliwati Lemtur scored seven runs each. Captain Hokaito Zhimomi scored one run. Apart from these, no other batsman could even open the account.
Only two bowlers from Uttarakhand made the Nagaland team sit in the pavilion. Mayank Mishra took five wickets for four runs in nine overs. At the same time, Swapnil Singh took four wickets for 21 runs in nine overs. Opener Yugandhar Singh was run out without opening an account.
These batsmen did wonders
The Uttarakhand team came out to bat first. Kunal Chandela played an innings of 92 runs from his side, for which he faced 129 balls and hit 16 fours. And Dikshanshu Negi played an inning of 83 runs. In this innings, he faced 126 balls and hit 13 fours and a six. Akhil Rawat scored an unbeaten 56 off 76 balls. In this innings he hit six fours and a six.
Shrikant Mundhe scored a century in the first innings for Nagaland. He scored an inning of 161 runs in 368 balls with the help of 14 fours. Apart from him, Yugandhar Singh scored 73 runs. In the second innings for Uttarakhand, Priyanshu Khanduri scored 73 runs off 106 balls with the help of five fours. Swapnil Singh scored an unbeaten 88 runs.
