6 balls of an over are usually bowled by the same bowler. But when three bowlers are employed for this work, then imagine what would have happened in this match.

In modern cricket 6 balls are bowled in an over. Modern cricket is because long ago there used to be 8-ball overs too. Well, it’s about one over and his six balls. According to the rules, this one over has to be bowled by one bowler. Now the question will be in your mind that only one bowling over is thrown. But after reading what we are going to tell you now, you will hardly believe it. Because we are going to tell you about one such over of a cricket match which was completed by not one, not two, but three bowlers. That is, six balls of one over were bowled by three different bowlers. And the interesting thing is that the bowler who started this historic over has his birthday today i.e. on 5th June.
Actually, we are talking about West Indies fast bowler and Mervyn Dillon, who has inherited the legacy of great bowlers like Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose. Dillon was born on 5 June 1974 in Trinidad. Dillon, who has 131 batsmen in 38 Test matches, also holds the unwanted record for the most number of dismissals on zero in a calendar year. The over we are talking about was played against Sri Lanka in Kandy on 21 November 2001. While bowling in this match, Mervan Dillon had a sudden severe pain in the stomach.
The full story of the historical over will be found here
When Mervan Dillon’s pain increased to the limit, he left the over in the middle and returned to the pavilion. Till then there were only two balls of the over. Colin Stuart came again to complete his over. He bowled the third ball well but after throwing two high and fast full toss in this over, he was stopped from bowling by the umpire. Both these balls were called no balls. Colin later could not bowl the entire innings. After Colin, the responsibility of completing that over of Dillon was taken over by Chris Gayle, who bowled the remaining three balls. In this way, three bowlers together completed the over. This is the only such incident in the history of Test cricket when three bowlers completed an over.
