Rehan Ahmed is the 53rd English bowler to have taken 5 wickets on Test debut. Before him this feat was done by Will Jacques in this series.
The 11-year-old record has been broken in the Karachi Test. Rehan Ahmed of England has now become the youngest bowler in the world to take 5 wickets on debut. He did this feat in 18 years and 126 days. Please tell that in the second innings against Pakistan, Rehan took 5 wickets.
Rehan Ahmed had earlier become the youngest player to make a Test debut for England. But now he is the youngest bowler to take 5 wickets on debut. With this, he is the 53rd English bowler to have taken 5 wickets on Test debut.
Rehan Ahmed has broken the record of Australia’s Pat Cummins by becoming the youngest bowler to take 5 wickets on Test debut. In 2011, Cummins did wonders in the Johannesburg Test against South Africa in 18 years and 191 days. That is, the difference of days between the two was 67 days.
Pat Cummins then broke the record of Pakistan’s Shahid Afqidi, who took 5 wickets on his debut against Australia in a Test match played in Karachi in 1998.
