Asian stocks opened flat on Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of key data on US inflation. The euro, on the other hand, edged higher against the yen, as there were hopes that the European Central Bank could take an important step towards tightening policy this week.
It seems that FPIs have started selling in the Indian markets. Nifty has formed a dark cloud cover pattern on the daily chart after a weekly rise of 1.4%. An upside level of 16,790 could be important on Nifty 50. On the downside, the level of 16,200 to 16,400 will act as a support on the Nifty.
