This Tata group company gave multibagger return, made Rs 235 from Rs 82 in two years

Mumbai: Indian Hotels Company Limited is a part of S&P BSE 200. It is the largest hospitality company in South Asia by market cap. It is a subsidiary company of Tata Group. Apart from operating luxury upscale and budget hotels, the company also provides in-flight catering services. IHCL has a rich history of 115 years. The company is rolling out new initiatives in urban leisure, service retail and concept travel as part of its evolution. These initiatives have been brought keeping in mind the needs of the future. IHCL owns several brands including Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, The Gateway, Ginger, Expressions, and TajSATS. The company believes in adding passion to the process.

The hospitality industry was badly affected due to the pandemic. Indian Hotels Company Limited not only managed to re-establish its business but also gave bumper returns to its shareholders. Its shares have gained over 186 per cent in the past two years. Its price was Rs 81.59 on June 1, 2020, which reached Rs 235 on May 31, 2022.

On a consolidated basis, the company’s net profit stood at Rs 71.57 crore in the fourth quarter of FY22 as against Rs 97.72 crore in the year-ago quarter. During this period, the company’s total income grew by 52.42% to Rs 954.88 crore as compared to Rs 626.47 crore in the same quarter last year. At 9.35 am, the company’s stock was trading at Rs 235.55, down 0.42 per cent. The 52-week high of this stock on BSE is Rs 268.85 and the lowest level is Rs 117.59.
