Fertilizers In India: There will be no shortage of urea and DAP for the farmers in the country and the Center has sufficient stock of it. He said that efforts are being made to ensure that there is no shortage of fertilizers for the Rabi and Kharif crops to the farmers of the country. Work is being done to stop black marketing. Along with this, strict action will be taken against those who do black marketing.
The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Madaviya said that the country’s largest producer of fertilizers, especially urea (Urea) and have sufficient stock of DAP, and about Rs 2.25 lakh crore annual subsidy to the farmers by the Central Government (Subsidy) is being provided. He said that India has sufficient stock of urea and DAP till December.Urea-DAP Stock) and the government for the Rabi and Kharif season to the farmers (Farmers) will ensure easy availability of fertilizers. He said that the country is on the way to become self-sufficient in urea production and the Barauni unit in Bihar and Sindri in Jharkhand will produce 25 lakh metric tonnes of urea annually from October. The plant at Sindri will start producing urea with its full capacity from August. At the same time, production is expected to start soon in Barauni too.
Sources said that the prices of fertilizers may come down in the international market after six months but India has already stocked fertilizers for Kharif and Rabi seasons. A 45 kg bag of urea is sold to farmers for Rs 266 through PoS devices installed at retail outlets, while the government has to pay Rs 3000 for this bag.
Flying squad formed to check black marketing of urea
According to ANI, sources said that apart from agriculture, urea is used in many other sectors like resin, gum, plywood, crockery and industrial mining explosives. Accordingly, to prevent misuse, diversion or black marketing of subsidized urea for farmers, the Ministry has constituted Flying Squads. This team of dedicated officers conducts surprise inspections of fertilizers and related units and also keeps a watch on the supply of substandard fertilizers. The FFS is monitored by the Flying Squad Cell at Headquarters.
Strict action will be taken against those involved in diversion of urea
The Flying Squad of the Department of Fertilizers recently seized 35,000 bags of urea in different parts of the country including Haryana, Kerala, UP, Gujarat, MP, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Eight FIRs have been registered and six people arrested for converting urea into industries. Ministry sources said strict action would be taken against those found involved in diversion of urea.
Manufacturing licenses of 25 fraudulent units canceled
The Department of Fertilizers launched a campaign against 38 mixture manufacturing units in eight states, most of which were located in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Bihar. Raids were conducted at all the places simultaneously. Based on the evidence and documents found in the raids, instructions have been given to cancel the manufacturing licenses of 25 fraudulent units and authorize them to buy subsidized fertilizers from IFMS (Integrated Fertilizer Management System).
