In the state, the BJP and Congress have to hand over the command of the state organization to the new leader. While the Congress is focusing on the Muslim and Brahmin equation, the BJP wants to hand over the command of the state to a leader of the Dalit or Brahmin class.
After the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, now the eyes of the political parties are on the civic elections. SP, BSP, Congress and BJP have started preparations for these elections. Bahujan samaj party (BSP) So the civic body is preparing to contest elections on a large scale. Because it did well in the 2017 municipal elections. Usually in civic elections BJP (BJP) is performing well and she is busy preparing this time too. Congress (Congress) has also made new rules for body elections. But the special thing is that even after the assembly elections in the state, BJP and Congress could not appoint a new state president. Swatantra Dev Singh is the state president in BJP and he is also a minister in the Yogi government. Whereas Congress had removed the then state president Ajay Kumar from the post after losing the election and after that no one has been appointed to this post. Experts say that both Congress and BJP are embroiled in caste and regional equations and due to this they are not able to appoint the state president.
Preparations have started for Lok Sabha elections-2024 and before that civic elections are to be held in the state. Which in a way will be a litmus test for all political parties. The BJP is in government in the state and it has been getting success continuously for many decades in the civic elections. So she is once again engaged in preparation. The state president of the party has to be changed. But till now the party could not declare the name of any credible face. Because whoever will be appointed as the new president in the state, under his leadership, the civic and Lok Sabha elections will be fought in the state. In such a situation, the appointment of the state president becomes most important. Something similar is also the case with Congress. Congress, which is facing defeat for three decades, has not been able to appoint a new president in the state. While the Congress is entangled in the Muslim and Brahmin equation, the BJP wants to hand over the command of the state to someone from the Dalit or Brahmin class.
BJP eyes on new equation
After winning the assembly elections in the state, Swatantradev Singh has become a minister in the Yogi cabinet and at present he is also holding the chair of the Speaker. The rule of one person one post is applicable in the party. In such a situation, it is difficult for him to remain in two positions. It is going to be three months since Yogi Adityanath’s government was formed in the state and the party has not got any new president so far. The discussion whether the command of the BJP organization should be handed over to a Brahmin or to a Dalit, is stuck in this equation. The special thing is that when the command of the state is handed over to the new president, only then a new executive will be formed and a new team will be formed in the districts as well.
Congress looking for a strong face
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has done many experiments in Uttar Pradesh so far. But those experiments have failed. In the assembly elections 2022, the Congress could win only two seats. Whereas in the 2017 assembly elections, it had seven MLAs. Not only this, only one seat came in the account of Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, whereas in 2014 it had two MPs. Congress has lost the Lok Sabha elections in its stronghold Amethi itself. While the entire responsibility of Amethi was with Priyanka Gandhi. Now the Congress wants to play bets on such a face in the state, which can give the party a big victory in the Lok Sabha elections. At present, the names of PL Punia to Pramod Krishnam, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, MLA Virendra Chaudhary, Nadeem Javed and former state president Nirmal Khatri are in discussion for the new president in the party. With this, the Congress can implement the formula of four working presidents in the state like other states. At present, the Congress is focusing on the Brahmin and Muslim equation.
