On the second day of the winter session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, there was a lot of uproar on the reservation of Other Backward Classes (OBC) on Tuesday. During this, Congress-BJP made fierce allegations against each other and the leaders of both the parties were engaged in proving themselves to be OBC friendly. Congress state president and former chief minister Kamal Nath raised questions on the intention of the government. He confused the government by saying that he is in favor of OBC reservation and if the government moves forward in this direction, the opposition will support him.
At the same time, during the debate, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a big announcement. He said that Panchayat elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held only with OBC reservation. The central government will go to the Supreme Court for reservation, the Chief Minister said that in the last 3 days, he has discussed this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, besides legalists.
Minister Bhupendra Singh blamed Congress, said – If Congress does not go to court, then this situation would not have been created
Shivraj government minister Bhupendra Singh said that the government is working on all those aspects so that elections are held under OBC reservation. Blaming the Congress for the present situation, the minister said that if Congress did not go to court, then this situation would not have happened. However, Bhupendra Singh did not give any clear answer about going to the Supreme Court.
Government responsible for the current situation: Kamleshwar Patel
At the same time, speaking first on the adjournment motion of the Congress, former minister and Congress MLA Kamleshwar Patel alleged that the government is responsible for the situation created due to OBC reservation. Even after 5 days of the order of the Supreme Court, there is confusion regarding the Panchayat elections. He alleged that the government had brought an ordinance regarding delimitation and reservation in haste. He proposed in the house that apart from the court, there should be reservation in Public Service Commission, State Service Commission and other commissions also, for this a proposal should be sent to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly to the Central Government.
Former minister and Congress MLA Kamleshwar Patel retaliated, alleging that when the Supreme Court was delivering the verdict, the government’s lawyers were also present, but the government did not put any side in the court during that time. According to former minister Kamleshwar Patel, the BJP government only pretends to be OBC friendly.
