After reaching Kolkata, JP Nadda held a meeting with senior party leaders including Bengal BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh, Sukanta Majumdar, Shubhendu Adhikari, Amit Malviya on Tuesday night. During the meeting, JP Nadda sought information about the situation in the state BJP. On Thursday, JP Nadda will hold a meeting with the party’s public representatives and divisional presidents. He will also participate in the civic body meeting at the Science City Auditorium. JP Nadda’s visit to West Bengal is taking place at a time when the BJP is hoping to revive its organizational machinery. Due to organizational weakness, the party has to deal with internal differences and defection after the 2021 assembly elections. In May, Union minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah had visited Bengal and advised the party’s state unit to strengthen the organization to take on the Trinamool.
Bengal, which is battling infighting, will give the mantra of unity to BJP
Party sources said Nadda’s visit is significant in the sense that the party’s central leadership plans to strengthen the state unit by plugging the gaps before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. State BJP is grappling with the problem of mutual differences and leaders leaving the party. Party leaders say that JP Nadda will give a mantra of solidarity to the leaders of Bengal BJP, which is facing internal strife.
