State Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya has issued a notification for the by-elections to Champawat assembly seat and with this the nomination process has started. The main contest on this seat is between BJP and Congress.
By-elections to be held in Champawat of UttarakhandChampawat) has been issued by the Election Commission on Wednesday and in the by-election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJPOn behalf of the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is the candidate. Whereas the Congress has not yet announced the candidate for this and it is being told that the Congress can announce the candidate by this evening. State Congress President Karan Mahra (Congress State President Karan Mahra) Postponing the Garhwal tour program, he returned to Dehradun everyday and had talks with the party’s top leaders regarding the by-elections. After which it is believed that Congress will announce the name of the candidate today.
According to media reports, Mahra told that the name of the candidate can be announced by late Thursday evening and the decision regarding the selection will be collective. He said the party would give a tough fight to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the bypolls and claimed that the Congress would defeat the Chief Minister in Champawat seat like Khatima seat. For this the Congress has prepared a strategy. It is being told that Bhuvan Kapri, who defeated CM Dhami in Khatima seat, has been activated by Congress in Champawat seat.
Karan Mahra, who returned to Dehradun after leaving Garhwal tour in the middle to decide the name of the candidate for Champawat seat, is starting the Garhwal journey again from Thursday. He accused the BJP government of the state that the government has no preparation for the Chardham Yatra and the condition of the roads is bad. No security arrangements have been made in the landslide-affected areas on the Yatra routes and facilities for the passengers are inadequate.
Election Commission issued notification for Champawat by-election
State Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya has issued a notification for the by-elections to Champawat assembly seat and with this the nomination process has started. According to the program released by the Chief Electoral Officer of the state on Wednesday, Sowjanya, nomination for Champawat by-election will be done till Wednesday 11 May and nomination papers will be scrutinized till 12 May. Whereas Tuesday 17th May is the last date for withdrawal of nominations and polling will be held on 31st May and election results will be declared on 5th June.
