He added: “We will work with her and her team, but I hope we can change the direction of travel for British-Irish relations that we’ve seen over the last couple of years.”
Officials near Truss have reportedly consulted authorized and commerce specialists on the choice of triggering Article 16 motion in opposition to the EU over the protocol this month.
Triggering Article 16 instantly would enable the UK to unilaterally droop all or elements of the protocol earlier than a 15 September deadline of authorized motion by the EU.
