West Bengal Municipal Election: The politics of Bengal has heated up regarding the municipal elections in West Bengal. In many municipalities, the TMC has won without any rivalry, so the BJP has started accusing the ruling party of atrocities.

West Bengal civic elections (Bengal Municipal Election) in the alleged atrocities of TMC and demand for deployment of central force (Central Forces) on the Yuva Morcha of Bengal BJP (Bengal BJP) gheraoed the office of the State Election Commission. BJP workers clashed with the police. The police allegedly dragged the BJP workers into the jail van. Many BJP workers have been taken into custody and taken to the police station. BJP leader Priyanka Tibrewal, who contested against Mamta Banerjee in the Bhawanipur assembly by-election, has also been arrested. BJP alleges that the ruling party is atrocities on the workers of the opposition party across the state in view of the elections. Opposition is not being allowed to submit nomination papers. Threats are also being made to withdraw the nomination papers, somewhere the houses of BJP candidates are being shot at, and BJP candidates are being beaten up on the streets. The BJP leadership has also accused the police of inaction.
In protest, the BJP gheraoed the State Election Commission office. The police was also alert about this action. Police stopped the procession of BJP’s Yuva Morcha in front of the commission office. The situation worsened when BJP workers tried to break the barricades. BJP workers and police clashed with each other.
Police arrested protesting BJP workers
The police tried to drag them. Women police personnel also tried to handle the situation, but many women BJP workers lay down on the road. The police arrested many BJP workers and put them in the jail van. The police were also seen working hard to handle the situation. BJP leader Priyanka Tibrewal said, ‘We are not mad, we are all educated people here. How can the police push us? Before making an arrest we have to answer the question that what is the reason for being arrested? Everyone knows what the police is working for. We had come to inform the commission about the order of the High Court. Arresting Priyanka Tibrewal is not easy.”
Bengal BJP President targets TMC
According to the protesters, in several districts including Birbhum, South 24 Parganas, Hooghly and North 24 Parganas, BJP candidates could not submit their nominations due to TMC’s atrocities and the Election Commission is sitting as a mute spectator. The party of the State Election Commission has become a slave. BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar said, “People are understanding the position of the opposition under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee. However, the State Election Commission has also become a puppet of the ruling party. The darker the darkness, the sooner democracy will be alive again.
