Students studying engineering-law are also involved in the gang supplying drugs in Almora Jail of Uttarakhand. In fact, on Tuesday, the STF raided several jails including Almora and found many similar with mobile-SIM cards from the barracks of New Jatav Basti Rishikesh, a resident of Mahipal alias Barka, who is serving a life sentence for murder in jail. It is being told that he does black business of drugs in association with Ankit Bisht alias Angida resident of Nimbuchad Kotdwar. He also had the facility of online payment and through this he does drug business.
Two kilograms of charas recovered
On this, STF arrested Deepak Tiwari resident Haldwani Hall address-Clementtown, Santosh Rawat resident Barowala Arcadia Grant, Bhaskar Negi resident Nimchaud Kotdwar, Santosh (female) resident Govindnagar and Manish Bisht. Two kilograms of charas and 10 boxes of English liquor were found from them. When the police interrogated them, the names of three more accused have come to the fore. STF SSP Ajay Singh said that the absconding accused include Bhupendra alias Bhupi resident Kapkot Bageshwar, who is being searched.
Is someone a B.Tech student or someone doing law?
According to the STF, many students are also involved in the charas smuggling gang who are associated with this business racket. Deepak Tiwari is studying B.Tech from a reputed university and Ankit is a law graduate. While Manish Bisht and Santosh Rawat are diploma holders. Manish also works in a blood bank in Pauri and all online transactions were being done through him.
Many cases including murder on Mahipal in Doon
According to the information received from the police, 16 cases of murder, act, gangster act and excise are registered against Mahipal in Doon. He is serving a sentence in a murder case and cases are also registered against his accomplice Ankit under the NDPS Act. Santosh, a woman arrested on Tuesday, is also a vicious drug smuggler and has 17 cases registered against her under NDPS and Excise Act.
