The Central GST team on Friday raided the residence and godown of a pan masala trader and khaini maker in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. During this, a team of 35 officers and employees of the Director General Investigation Office of CGST located in New Delhi raided. At the same time, evidence has come to the fore in the investigation that the businessman has not displayed the stock of crores of rupees anywhere and has evaded tax on GST.

According to the information, the pan masala businessman is also the operator of a reputed private school chain of the country. Presently this school operates in Tarna. At the same time, the businessman makes khaini and pan masala under the name of Aashiqui brand. Along with this, they are supplied in other nearby areas including Jaunpur, Lucknow, Pratapgarh. At the same time, it also has factories and godowns in Goithan, Nakkighat, Soyepur.
Documents of previous years’ GST returns are being matched with stock papers
Let us inform that during the raid, the officials of the Central GST team had instructed all the employees present in the factory not to leave the campus and their mobile phones were confiscated. At the same time, a senior CGST official said that a large quantity of pan masala and khaini sachets have been found during the raid. However, he has been confiscated by the team. He said that the documents of the GST returns of the previous years are being matched with the documents of the stock.
