This is because the National Highway Authority of India ie NHAI has increased the toll tax on expressways and highways from April 1. Different toll tax has been fixed for different categories of vehicles. Let us tell you, the increase in toll tax has been done from five to 15%. Whereas, for short distance you will have to pay 10% more toll tax.

Traveling on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway is now expensive
According to NHAI, the number of four wheelers is high between Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut in Delhi on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. In such a situation, the toll on this expressway has been increased by five rupees. At the same time, for driving on the expressway between Delhi and Hapur, you will have to pay 6.45 percent more tax.
The toll on this expressway connecting Kundli, Ghaziabad and Palwal has been increased by 5 to 7%.

95 rupees will have to be paid for Chandigarh
NHAI has increased the toll tax by 7 percent for going from Delhi to Jaipur, Hisar, Agra, Bulandshahr and Chandigarh. According to the new tax rate, now you will have to pay a minimum tax of Rs 95 on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway.
At the same time, the minimum toll from Kondli to Eastern Peripheral Expressway will be Rs 35. The minimum toll tax on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway has now been increased to Rs 105. These rates are for all four wheeler vehicles.
