Some of them are brothers and sisters, some have been nurses of corona patients and some have returned after a long time and won gold. Just a few stories like this.

Iran’s 10m Air Pistol Olympic champion Javed Forohi describes himself as a soldier of the country as he was busy in his role as a nurse in the hospital when other shooters were busy preparing for the Olympics during COVID-19. Forrohi, 41, won the gold on Saturday with an Olympic record of 244.5 points. India’s Saurabh Chaudhary had entered the event but finished seventh in the final after topping the qualification. Forrohi said, ‘I am very happy that I am Iran’s first champion in pistol and rifle. Iran had never won a medal in these Olympics before, not even a bronze medal, and I won the gold. I am very happy that I did a good job as a soldier of the country. I am a nurse and work in hospital. Especially during the COVID epidemic, I worked in the hospital. Last year I too got infected as I was working in the hospital. After recovering from illness, I started practicing.

Abe Hifumi and Abe Uta of Japan are the first pair of siblings to have won gold medals in their respective events at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.  Both achieved this success in Judo.  The funny thing is that both won Olympic gold on the same day.  First, Utah won the medal in the women's 52 kg category.  A few minutes later, Abe won gold in the 60 kg category.

Ahmed Hafnoi surprised the contenders by winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.  He completed the swim in 3.43.26 seconds.  In this category, Australia's Jack McLaughlin got the silver and America's Kieran Smith got the bronze.  There was a difference of only one second between these three.  Ahmed Hafnoi is the second swimmer from Tunisia to win a gold medal in swimming.  Prior to him, Aus Meluli won gold in the 15m freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Games.
