To reduce the consumption of physical gold for investment in the country, the Reserve Bank of India issues Sovereign Gold Bonds. Recently, RBI has taken out its new installment, whose bonds are being bought from 19th. Friday is the last date to buy it. This time the central bank has fixed a price of Rs 5,409 per gram for gold bonds.
If you buy this bond by paying online, then you will also get a discount. Such investors will get these bonds with a discount of Rs 50 per gram, which means the value of the bond for them will be Rs 5,359 per gram.
Benefits of buying gold bonds
The maturity period in Sovereign Gold Bond is 8 years. However, from the fifth year you also get the facility to withdraw it. You also get interest on the maturity of this bond, which is calculated at 2.50 per cent per annum. It starts getting from the second year of buying the bond.
How much money can be invested
Any person can invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds equal to the amount of at least one gram of gold. Individuals, HUFs, Trusts and similar other entities can buy Gold Bonds of an amount equal to four kg, four kg and twenty kg respectively in each financial year.
Where can I buy gold bonds
Sale of Sovereign Gold Bonds issued by RBI through authorized post offices, commercial banks (other than small finance banks, payments banks and regional rural banks), Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, Clearing Corporation of India Limited and stock exchanges NSE and BSE Is performed.
KYC documents required for gold bonds
KYC documents will be required for taking gold bonds. These are the same papers which are generally used to buy physical gold. Voter ID, Aadhaar, PAN card, passport and other KYC documents can be useful for this. At the same time, it is necessary to write PAN number with every application for Sovereign Gold Bond.
