Tokyo Paralympic Games to be held from September 24
After the best performance in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020, India are now expecting a similar performance from their Paralympians. 54 players from India will participate in the Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo from August 24 to September 3. India’s team chief in Paralympir Gursharan Singh believes that India will do its best in these games and win at least 15 medals, including five gold.
India has sent a team of 54 players for nine sports, which is the largest Indian contingent in these games so far. Indian players will participate in Para Archery, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Para Canoeing, Para Shooting, Para Swimming, Para Powerlifting, Para Table Tennis and Para Taekwondo.

Singh, general secretary of the Paralympic Committee of India, said, “I am sure these will be our best Paralympic Games. Our para athletes have put in a lot of hard work and it is paying off in international tournaments. They are eager to do well. “We are expecting at least 15 medals including five gold in these games. We are expecting medals in para athletics, para badminton, para archery and para shooting.

India’s hopes in para badminton are in the men’s SL3 category. In archery, Rakesh Kumar and Shyam Sundar will enter compound, while Vivek Chikara and Harvinder Singh will enter recurve and women archer Jyoti Baliyan will enter compound and mixed category.
