Star athlete Neeraj Chopra created history by winning the javelin throw gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games, giving India its first ever medal in Olympic track and field events.  The 23-year-old Neeraj stunned the world with his 87.58m javelin throw in his second attempt and stunned the Indians in celebration.  This is India's first Olympic medal in athletics in more than 100 years.  Neeraj is the second Indian player to win an individual gold medal from India, before that shooter Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
