Good news for Dogecoin investors, Burger King Brazil is offering dog treats with Dogecoin payments!

Burger King has announced that it will accept Dodgecoin, a Shiba-Inu face-themed cryptocurrency, for dog treats in Brazil. Even though the initial announcement on Twitter read that the company is accepting Dodgecoin for regular food items. But two hours later, it was clarified that the company had agreed to accept digital currency for ‘Dogpper’. Dogpper is a dog treat and was introduced in 2019. The Dodgecoin digital currency started out as a joke, but has been made hugely popular by billionaire Elon Musk, who frequently tweets about it. His opinion on Twitter has often been the reason for the rally in cryptocurrency stocks.

On July 27, Burger King Brazil first tweeted: “Hi, todo bam dodgecoin? Remember this day: Burger King Brazil is now accepting Dodgecoin!” It also added the hashtags Dogpper, BKDogpper, and SayYesToDogecoin to its tweet.

The next post came on the same evening two hours after the first post. The fast-food company asked if you were out of Brazil’s official currency, Rias. “Shop with DOGE. Burger King is revolutionizing the galaxies once again. We’re accepting the most beloved crypto, Dogecoin, as payment for Dogpper. Buying is easy, just visit the website,” it tweeted. further written in (translated).

Could this be the first step towards adopting Dodgecoin as a method of payment for food sales in the future? Well, for now, Burger King has restricted the use of DodgeCoin to buying dog treats only.

User Jose Lanz (@jaldps) posted the same question, which translates to: “Only for puppies or do you accept specific combos as well?”

The company responded by saying, “Oh, Jose, the one that matches Dogecoin is our Dogpper, so the purchase is only valid for Dogpper ordered by this site.” (translated).

At the same time, many saw this as another victory for the Doge-themed crypto token. Check out these responses-
